Contortions was composed in the fall of 1999. It was premiered by Sarah Beth Hanson on January 12, 2001 in Baton Rouge Louisiana. It is included on a double CD (MP - 0002) of 21 new pieces for sole flute, performed by Iwona Glinka. It was recorded in Athens Greece and produced by Magni Publications in Baton Rouge, 2003.
