Chronomorphosis was composed in 1984 and revised in 2003. Scored in graphic notation, it represents the composer's earlier style of composition, where emphasis is placed on abstract organization of sound events, exploration of layered timbres and extended instrumental techniques. The newer 2003 edition has preserved the original music but has reorganized the instrumental parts (divided among eight musicians as opposed to the original six) that has made the composition more practical in performance. The newer edition was premiered by the Lakehead University New Music Ensemble on November 27, 2003.
